My thoughts in 5 mins.

Good morning, rise and shine, it's Friday! I love the feeling that any given Friday can bring. It's almost like finally making it to the top of a steep hill. Better yet, it's like seeing the timer on the dreaded stair stepper read 00:00. Yes, that's a perfect description. The two of us had a big disagreement yesterday but that's nothing new. By the end we were best friends again. Moving on...

So back to today being a great day! I decided to link up with Lisa Jo Baker for her weekly 5 minute Friday link-up. My favorite blogger/friend-in-real-life Melissa @ Spouseisms introduced me to this fun link-up!

So the deal is, she gives you just one topic and then you interpret it and jot down whatever comes into your mind for just 5 minutes! I don't know about you but my brain can sure run through a million ideas in a split second, so to give it 5 minutes should be interesting.

Today's topic is 'What Mama Did'

Start the timer and go...

The topic would be much easier if it were 'What Mama didn't do' because to name one thing that she did would be near to impossible. Where do I begin? One of the things that will always make my heart happy is my Mama. I am so proud and thankful to call her mine. My Mama invested in me and has shaped me into the woman I am today. To name just one thing she did to make me happy is near to impossible. Her selfless love, her sacrifice and her tender care has always been evident, it was only until my wee teen years that I learned to appreciate it, and now, that I'm able to understand the extent of it and for that I am forever grateful. She has taught me how to love my Lord, love life and to love the people I come in contact with. She was my cheerleader, my encourager and now she is one of my best friends. I hope to be half the Mama that she was to me some day. Those are certainly some hard shoes to fill but I pray that my kids will look at my Mom like I will always look at her, flawless.

05:00 and stop.

Although this post was about that beautiful woman on the left, I'm so thankful for both of my parents.

I'm finally out and feeling better than ever! Thank's so much for your thoughts, love and prayers it meant so much to have so many caring friends supporting me.
S and I are off to have a weekend of fun with his family in Sweden!
See you on Sunday for some 'Fika'!!

  5. First of all, I'm glad to hear you're feeling well! :) Second, I love hearing about how much people love their moms. It's funny how it takes us a while to really appreciate what our parents do/have done for us. Your mom sounds amazing, and it's nice seeing her legacy passed down through you. :)
