Although I believe love should be a continual act and doesn't necessarily need a day to prompt us to express this strong emotion, I will be the first to admit that I'm a sucker for the cheesy, thoughtful and ever-so romantic gestures. And I believe that I married the most incredible man in the world so this post may just fall into the cliche & sappy category {warning}.
This is the first Valentine's Day that Stephen and I have actually spent together, in the same country, and because of that we decided we would make it special. I thought special meant a nice dinner, some chocolates and a handwritten love note. But Stephen never does anything mediocre {read glimpse of our love story here } and today was definitely no exception! I was surprised with picnic breakfast this morning, the sweetest card and a dress that I've been admiring. The thing that I love most about his gestures is the thoughtfulness behind everything he does. That's one reason why I love him so much, his heart is so big and exudes so much care for me, his family, my family and everyone that he comes in contact with.
Today also nearly marks 6 months since we said 'I do' and it's an understatement to say that we've learned so much about each other and marriage during this time. The one thing that I will say is that every single moment and every single sacrifice has been worth it to be married to my best friend. {warned you it would get a little mushy} I'm so grateful that God chose me to walk through life with him. One of the greatest things about marriage is that you never stop learning about each so to show how much Stephen knows or hasn't quite figured out, we did a His & Her survey. I think he was pretty spot on.
His: Since August 18th 2012 - 6 months next week.
Her: We've been married for 6 months on February 18th.
Where was your first date?
His: Well Tara will disagree with me on this as I think it's two days earlier but our official first day anniversary is September 28th 2010 when we went to the movies and to paint pottery.
Hers: I consider our first official date the day he asked me to dinner and to paint pottery 2 days before he was heading back to the UK. He came and picked me up and we had a lovely evening of sushi eating, pottery painting, catching a movie, exchanging political books {nerd alert} and ending it with a kiss and a dreaded goodbye.
Where was your first kiss?
His: On our first date - at the movie theatre and I initiated.
Hers: Sadly in the movies. This was completely not my move but his. Not the most romantic spot but definitely a memorable one, I figured that's just how they do it in the UK.
Who first said, "I love you"?
His: That would be me too! It was Christmas 2010.
Hers: Stephen. He said it during my first visit to England. I must admit that I kinda knew it was coming because I found a card that said the l-o-v-e word on it oops.
His: Tiffany blue, white and silver.
Hers: Tiffany blue, robin's egg green, mint. We resorted to a pantone color number by the time it was all said and done. Otherwise it would have been all kinds of different shades.
His: Errr good question, I don't think she has a specific one.
Hers: I'm not sure I have one? Maybe... "this is for the birds" if I'm getting frustrated. I only notice it because Stephen always asks what I mean. I'm not even sure where that statement came from?
If she was ordering drinks for both of you what
would you each get?
His: We would both have a glass of Riesling.
Hers: If I was ordering a drink to share it would probably be a Sprite. If it was two separate drinks a water with lemon for moi and a lemonade for the Mr.
What is the best meal she has ever cooked you?
His: Oooh so many to choose from....chicken and avocado with cheese and pasta.
Her: He'll definitely say, "Chicken avocado parmigiana" OR my "special croissant rolls".
His: Err, I would never disclose publicly if there was as that isn't fair but I can honestly say I love my wife's food and I'm very grateful for it!
Hers: I can't think of a meal that went too terrible wrong but he hates black beans and rice {which I love} and I made some cupcakes that went terribly wrong recently.

What is the most-played song on her iPod?
His: Its got to be country music generally and I would say recently....anything by Luke Bryan!
Her: Luke Bryan or Michael Buble, not sure I have one particular song though?

What would she say is your most annoying habit?
His: Picking/fidgeting
Her: Picking his nails, face, nose ha. Whatever it is that entails picking.
His: Well she has several night timely processes but I would say taking off make up.
Her: I always kiss him goodnight.
Her: I always kiss him goodnight.
If you could throw out one item of her clothing what would it be?
His: None at all!
Hers: Old pajamas?
What would you say is your favorite thing about her?
His: She is the most caring person I've ever met- from me to family, friends and anybody she ever meets and about every little thing!!!!
Her: Hard one to answer but I think he might say consideration and thoughtfulness for others?
His: Wow this is complicated...hot would be a grande americano, half water, half breve with 2 pumps of sugar free cinnamon dolce with 2 splendas.
Hers: I have two, a cold regular and a hot regular. Hot - Grande Americano, half water/half steamed breve and two pumps sugar free vanilla and two splendas. Cold- Grande iced coffee with milk {cream}, extra caramel drizzle in & out and two splendas.

What's her blog's name?!
