Visiting the England.

All good things have an ending and after what was an amazing week, two of my favorites have found their way back to the sunshine and unfortunately couldn't fit me in their carry on. How dare them! We spent some time up north, a few days in London Town and then showed them around the quaint city of York. Much to my surprise I know more than I thought and without giving myself too much props I'd say my tour guide skills weren't too shabby.

See for yourself...

First stop showing them around the north AND in the sunshine for once in a blue moon!

I then put on my best tour guide cap to show them around the big smoke!
Buckingham Palace
Inside the London Eye

Tower Bridge
Notting Hill
Pit stop at Hummingbird Bakery
Off to the gorgeous Goring for afternoon tea!

It's impossible to pay a visit to the Goring and not feel like a princess!
He just won't crack a smile - #crazyamericans

Stroll through green park.

The last stop was York for a visit.

And that sweets, pretty much sums up this beautiful trip. It was a fleeting visit but it sure was a good one. Until next time we'll hold on to these memories.

If you're planning to travel to this side of the pond my recommendations are as follows...

1. Book a proper afternoon tea. My favs are The Goring or the Chesterfield Mayfair.
2. Choose walking. Although your feet might convince you otherwise you can see so much more by foot.
3. Stop by Notting Hill, quaint shops and outdoor markets.
4. Eat & drink your way through one of the worlds biggest open air markets - Borough Market.
5. Buckingham is always a must for a first time tourist. As is the London Eye, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge, West Minster Abbey, Tower of London and Harrods.
6. Stroll through the beautiful parks. Green Park, Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park are just some of the beautiful greens.
7. If you're heading south put the city of Bath in your pit stop lists. The history that makes up this town is beautiful and if you're a Jane Austen fan you'll love it even more.
8. If time allows spend sometime at a bed & breakfast in the idyllic Surrey.
9. Visit the quaint city of York.
10. Call me for a coffee - duh!

  25. I just randomly stumbled upon your blog looking for others who had made 'The Holiday' trip to Shere, Surrey. I wish I had found you sooner! We just got back from our Honeymoon to London last week and it was such an AMAZING trip. I made the Hubby do the trip to Shere with me since The Holiday is one of my fav movies and I've always been in love with the idea of the English countryside. It did not disappoint! One of the best parts of the trip for me. Although I adored London too. I am ready to move there anytime, although like you, I am sure after awhile I would get homesick for sunshine, Target, and Mexican food! Ha :)
